Finegold Alexander is working closely with The Community Group on the design of a new 53,000 SF facility in Lawrence, MA. The new building will be used by the Community Day Charter Public School's upper school while also serving the wider TCG community through after-school programs, athletics, and youth summer activities.

Located on a beautiful former farm site, the facility will include instructional space, offices, gymnasium, cafeteria, playing fields and outdoor learning areas for a seamless connection to nature. When complete, The Community Group will have a new facility that supports its mission to foster student success, celebrate diversity, and enrich the learning experience for every child it serves.

Construction began in July 2025. Check out the progress since then below:

Rear Rendering: Building embracing the existing knoll.

Construction View: The new building carefully responds to the site and celebrates its relationship to nature for the benefit of the students.

Front Rendering: Welcoming main entrance and bus drop off.

Construction View: To keep the massing and materials simple, a nature-inspired color palette was chosen for the exterior materials to blend in with the bucolic setting. The design features a masonry base and brick façade on the main portion of the building, architectural CMU at the gym, and accents of a wood-look product at the entries.

Construction View: The exterior brick is nearly complete, and the windows are currently being installed.
