At the construction site of Temple Israel Tulsa two weeks ago, a huge undertaking was completed by moving the two 42-feet-tall concrete tablets. Designed by local artist Bernard "Poco" Frazier in 1950, the cast-in-place tablets have a sculptural depiction of the Ten Commandments were at the former entrance to the site.

With careful planning by contractor Crossland Construction Company Inc., the Finegold Alexander Architects design team, and structural engineer Wallace Design Collective, the 90,000-pound tablets were temporarily relocated away from the original building. They will be moved again to a sacred garden visible through the curtainwall at the front of the new sanctuary. Associate and Project Manager Steve Walnut captured the move of the first tablet as it was attached to a steel frame and carried by a crane to the temporary location.
