In honor of Back-to-School month, Finegold Alexander shares a unique view of our Eliot Innovation School at 585 Commercial Street project. Located in Boston’s North End, the school serves grades 5-8 and is part of a three-building campus. Finegold Alexander led the design of the school and transformed the school into an innovative new learning environment. The project involves the design for the adaptive reuse and renovation of a former office building into a contemporary school facility.

In the below video, hear Principals Regan Shields Ives, Christopher Lane, and Tony Hsiao and Eliot Principal Traci Walker-Griffith discuss the vision for the school and the strategic design decisions to ensure the school met the needs of its students and community. Students also share how the spaces impact their learning experience and enhance their overall well-being.
