How low can we go? Even lower! Last year, we shared how low we could go against the national average predicted Energy Use Intensity (pEUI) on some of our projects across the different sectors we work in. We created an updated chart to share how some of our projects compared to similar buildings using the Zero Tool. The below pEUIs describes the energy use for a project based on modeled site energy. As a signatory of the AIA 2030 Commitment, we report our energy reports each year to the AIA and the Zero Tool was developed for design professionals to establish baseline targets and compare building’s energy performance with similar buildings.

2024 Results:

Finegold Alexander’s courthouse, library, and religious projects are consistently below the baseline in each sector
Our K-12 and Higher Ed projects are also below the baseline by at least 50%.

Because of the work of the FA Energy team, our low pEUIs on renovations and new construction projects reflect the commitment to sustainability and efficient performance. Learn more about our FA Energy practice here.
