The Boston University Kilachand Hall and Cambridge City Hall façade renovations both were awarded Preservation Massachusetts 2025 Preservation Awards. The Kilachand Hall renovation was awarded the Paul & Niki Tsongas Award, and Cambridge City Hall was awarded the Mayor Thomas M. Menino Legacy Award.

Principals Rebecca Berry and Tony Hsiao and Associate Steve Walnut attended the award ceremony at the historic Fenway Park and had a great time connecting with the project team and colleagues in the Greater Boston preservation community.

The Kilachand Hall renovation included significant life safety and infrastructure upgrades, achieving a LEED Gold certification. The 9th story student spaces were renovated to meet their evolving needs.

In collaboration with Simpson, Gumpertz and Heger and ARUP, Finegold Alexander were tasked with the revitalization of the historic Cambridge City Hall’s façade. The original stone masonry, clock tower, wooden window frames, flagpole, and gilded text above the entryway were all in need of a restoration to bring the color and life back to the historic building.
