We are happy to share Babson College has designated the Atrium in the Commons at Horn Library as the Ralph Z. and Charlotte R. Sorenson Atrium! In May, the news was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony, and was attended by more than 80 people, including President Emeritus Ralph Z. “Bud” Sorenson H’85 and his wife Charlotte Sorenson.

Back in 2018, Finegold Alexander designed a new Resource Center and new 10,000-square-foot Commons addition, following our work on the library’s third floor renovation. The addition creates a dramatic new entry for the library, with four full-sized olive trees and seasonal planters with built-in benches. A generous use of glass provides natural light throughout. The atrium is located within the heart of the commons, and is a wateringhole for students. Jeffery Perry ’87, P’23, chair of the Babson Board of the Trustees refers to it as a “crossroad” for students in their routines of everyday life.
