Finegold Alexander is proud to announce our firm is leading the Feasibility Study and Schematic Design for the Joseph Case Junior High School project in Swansea, MA! The Massachusetts School Building Authority recently approved the Preferred Schematic Report to move the project forward.

The firm is working closely with Swansea Public Schools to design a school building, serving grades 6-8, that meets their educational mission of providing a safe, diverse, and nurturing educational environment that encourages lifelong learning.

In the recently completed Preferred Schematic Report, the design of the new building is placed adjacent to the existing high school to create a shared campus for the students and community. The new junior high school will include learning communities, inclusive special education, access to outdoor learning, and abundant natural daylight.

“Finegold Alexander Architects is proud to partner with Swansea Public Schools on this essential Joseph Case Junior High School project for the whole community,” said Finegold Alexander Principal Regan Shields Ives. “Our mission aligns seamlessly with the school’s commitment to provide an environment for students to engage, think, and succeed in both their local and global communities.”

“This new school is more than a building, it’s an investment in the future of every child who walks through its doors,” said Swansea Superintendent of Schools, Scott C. Holcomb. “Finegold Alexander’s vision will help us create a place where students can learn, grow, and imagine what’s possible.”

The design team is entering the Schematic Design phase, and the project is scheduled to break ground in 2028 with completion date in 2030.
