Hingham Public Library
Hingham, Massachusetts |
Square Footage: 50,000
Construction Cost: $5 million |
When the Library opened in 1966, no one could have foreseen how rapidly the library would grow, or how soon all of the space originally expected to be available for later expansion would be entirely exhausted. FA+A was commissioned to renovate the existing building to create a modern public library. The library is adjacent the former Town Hall building and was acquired to provide additional library space by creating glass enclosed. The links provide space for a bright atrium area and cafe. |
