The submission by FA+A, for an invited design competition for the renovation and expansion of the historic 1859 Vermont State House, was selected as the winning solution. The renovation/expansion has three components: a major addition on the east side; expansion of the 1987 addition on the north side; and remodeling of the 1886 annex on the west side. The new three story, east wing - the major addition - complements and balances the 1886 west wing and will include a public meeting area, enlarged staff offices and cafeteria. |
