Wood Mill
Lawrence, Massachusetts |
Square Footage: 1.3 million
Construction Cost: $35 million |
The 1.3 million square foot, quarter mile long, 110 feet high, Wood Mill building was built from 1905-1909 and has long stood as an important part of Lawrence history. Finegold Alexander + Associates Inc, has been hired by MassInnovation LLC to develop a master plan for the mill and landscaping. The impact such a large structure will have on the environment is a great concern to MassInnovation. The company is known a leader in the area of alternative energy and sustainable design. They have recently installed the largest solar panel system in New England and a ground water source system. For the Wood Mill project, our LEED certified team is exploring the use of these technologies, as well as methods of retaining storm water and gray water for recycling. |
