Following on the success of the adaptive use of Durfee High School for a trial court facility, FA+A was selected by the Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) and The Fall River Site Advisory Committee to review and recommend a site and develop a program, and design a new Superior and District Court facility. The selected site is in a downtown location, easily accessible by bus or car, offering the potential to foster adjacent revitalization development. The completed court facility will enclose 145,000 square feet including, 9 courtrooms, administrative space for the clerks and probation departments, holding cells, a law library, child care and ADR facilities. Archival storage for other state functions will also be provided. The building will achieve LEED Silver Certification.
