Coburn Hall

Lowell, Massachusetts

Built in 1897, Coburn Hall was originally home to the Lowell Teachers College and is the oldest building on the University of Massachusetts Lowell campus. The building contains about 66,000 square feet of interior space.

In recent years, some renovation work has been done on Coburn Hall. However, much of the interior of the facility is in poor condition, having insufficient access and egress, and inadequate heating, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems. A programming/feasibility study and schematic design phase work are needed to identify an appropriate scope of further renovation.
