Berkeley Building in the News
The Berkeley Building, an icon in Boston’s Back Bay and revitalized by Finegold Alexander + Associates in the late 1980s, was recently featured in "The Real Reporter" on November 19, 2009 in an article entitled Hub's Berkeley Building Stands Test of Time.
The article reports robust leasing activity attributed in part to the “an ornate and prestigious building that offers an exciting and inspiring working environment.” Owner A.W. Perry’s VP Richard P. Beal remarked, “The building almost sells itself.” The article went on to note that “The Berkeley is so revered as to have been Boston’s inaugural winner of the BOMA International Building of The Year shortly after a gut renovation in 1989.” The winner of five other design and preservation awards, the project is just one example of the firm’s ability to reposition existing buildings for modern use while respecting historic context.
