Harvard University
Memorial Church
Cambridge, Massachusetts |
|
Located in Harvard Yard, this 1930s neo-Georgian building was designed as a memorial to the university's war dead. The comprehensive renovation by FA+A contributed significantly to the building's new role in university life. Light levels in the choir loft and chancel were improved dramatically without disturbing the existing ornate plaster ceiling. Memorial Church presently offers flexible spaces for meetings, counseling and seminars, and rooms for the church provide a suite of private rooms with a central reception area for the minister as well as the chaplains of the diverse faiths represented at Harvard. |
