The Residences at
Penny Savings Bank
Boston, Massachusetts |
Square Footage: 44,000
Construction Cost: $11 million |
This marble and cast stone building was constructed circa 1902-1911 in the Renaissance Revival style. The current building is approximately 38’ in height and contains a full height banking hall with a mezzanine office area along the north side.
The proposed work involves the complete restoration of the exterior plus an addition of 3 stories and a penthouse to the former Penny Savings Bank. The design of the new addition is conceived to reinforce the white marble and stone that characterizes the existing building. The proposal will contain approximately 23 condominium units. |
