Norwell Public Library

The original building was designed by FA+A in 1974 and anticipated expansion on two sides of the building. The library now requires a 25,000 total gross square foot building. In 2005 FA+A developed a renovation and addition plan that would improve services in all departments. The expanded entrance area includes access to the much used media collection and seating along the south wall provides access to new acquisitions. Progressing by the circulation desk one passes a sequence of spaces of ever increasing privacy and quiet: young adult areas, general fiction/non-fiction collections, reference, and then periodicals.
