Revitalization of the landmark Auditors Main Building was the first adaptive use project undertaken by the General Services Administration in Washington, DC. Prominently located on the Washington Mall, the Auditors Building overlooks many of the capital’s stately monuments. The red brick Victorian building, originally occupied by the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, was designed by James C. Hill and completed in 1878. Working closely with the General Services Administration, Finegold Alexander + Associates Inc and associated architects Mariani Inc. of Washington, DC, developed a cost-effective reuse plan for the surplus building. |
